Keith Rudy and Hugh Malco grew up in the 1960s, childhood friends, but life led them in different directions. Keith's father became Biloxi's district attorney, determined to clean up the coast of the Dixie gang, while Hugh's father became Biloxi's crime boss. Keith went to law school and followed in his father's footsteps, while Hugh preferred the nightlife and worked in his father's clubs. Eventually, the two families had no choice but to confront each other in life and in court. It includes a large number of characters who leave an unforgettable impression on the reader. From the atmosphere of the novel, we read: "Three days later, Bayard Wolfe died after reaching his inner peace, reassured by his preacher that God had forgiven him for all his sins when he confessed them before Him.
