موجز تاريخ الصراع الاسرائيلي - الفلسطيني

في هذا الكتاب، كما في جميع أعماله الأخرى، يُخضع إيلان پاپيه الصهيونيةَ لتحليل نقديٍّ صارم. فهو يرى أنها لم تكن حركةَ تحرُّر وطني لليهود، بل مشروعًا استعماريًا استيطانيًا فُرض على الفلسطينيين بالقوة؛ وبدعم من القِوى الغربية. وانطلاقًا من هذا الفهم، يخلُص پاپيه إلى أن شرعية دولة إسرائيل ليستْ قائمة حتى ضمن حدودها الأصلية، فضلًا عن تلك التي توسَّعت إليها بعد عام 1967. باختصار، فإنَّ تأسيس إسرائيل ارتبطَ بظلم جسيمٍ وقع على الفلسطينيين. ومن أجل تصحيح هذا الظلم، يدعو پاپيه إلى بديل سلمي، وإنساني، واشتراكي للفكرة الصهيونية، يتمثل في إقامة دولة ثنائية القومية، تُضمن فيها حقوقٌ متساوية لجميع مواطنيها، بغضِّ النظر عن الدين أو العِرق.
لقد أُلِّف هذا الكتاب في ظلِّ الأحداث الدامية التي تشهدها غزة، بعد هجوم السابع من أكتوبر 2023. ويُخْتَتَم الكتاب بفصلٍ يتناول هذا الحدث في سياقه التاريخي والأخلاقي، مُشدِّدًا على أنه لم يحدث في فراغ، بل جاء كردِّ فعلٍ على قَرن من الاستعمار الاستيطاني الصهيوني الذي حظيَ بدعم من الإمبريالية الغربية. ووفقًا لمنطق الاستعمار الاستيطاني، فإنَّ الهدف النهائي منه إزالةُ السكانِ الأصليينَ، وهي الفكرة التي أكَّدها نعوم تشومسكي، الذي شارك پاپيه في تأليف كتاب عن غزة، عندما وصفَ الاستعمار الاستيطاني بأنه «أكثر أشكال الإمبريالية تطرُّفًا ووحشيةً». من هذا المنطلق، فإنَّ الهجوم الإسرائيلي المدمِّر على غزة لا يُعدُّ حدثًا معزولًا، بل هو امتداد واستمرارية لسياسة تطهيرٍ عِرقي ممنهجةٍ. ويرى پاپيه، في حالة غزة تحديدًا، أن إسرائيل لم تكتفِ بالتطهير العِرقي فحسب، بل تجاوزت ذلك إلى ارتكاب جريمة الإبادة الجماعية، التي تُعْتَبر أبشع الجرائم على الإطلاق. وكما تقول الحكمة العربية: «ما بدأ أعوجَ، يظل أعوجَ».
