أرض المؤامرات السعيدة - Land of Happy Intrigues

هل يصحّ تصنيف البشر بين محض أخيار ومحض أشرار؟ هل الخير قيمة مطلقة؟ والشرّ مثلبٌ يبدأ بزلَّةٍ لا رجوع عنها؟ وهل نتعاطف مع من يغرق، نشعر برغبته الدفينة في الانعتاق من هذا الفخ، أم نتشفّى به؟هو صحافي. باع روحه للشيطان. أمعن في التورّط مع السلطة في لعبة مُحكمة النسج يمتهنها أقوياء البلاد. في تلك الدوّامة التي سلّم نفسه لرياحها، قام مطهَّر بكلّ ما طُلب منه من أعمالٍ دنيئة، لكنَّ ملمحاً إنسانيّاً طيّباً ظلّ لصيقاً به، يظهر في الخفاء، عند مفاصل الحكايات، في ثنايا المشهد القبيح، حين ينام جميع الحرّاس، وتنقشع قليلاً متطلّبات الوظيفة وأوامر الكبار...في بلادٍ لا تزال العبودية تُمارَس في دهاليزها، ثمّة «خادمات» يتنقّلن بين بيوت الأسياد، فتيات يشاهدن الرسوم المتحرّكة ويشرّعن أجسادهنّ وأعوامهنّ الطريّة لغزاة الليل والطفولة، وثمّة كرماء يُشهَّر بهم ومجرمون يكافَأون...في هذه البلاد صحافيٌّ فاسد، إنسانٌ فوّت عليه إنسانيّته، روّضها ببعض الدموع كلما ظهرت، ليموت كمداً بها... Is it valid to classify humans as purely good or purely evil? Is goodness an absolute value? And is, at the origin of evil, a slippery slope with no turning back? Do we sympathize with those who are drowning, sensing their deep desire to break free from this trap, or do we take pleasure in their suffering?

He is a journalist. He sold his soul to the devil. He deeply involved himself with the authorities in a tightly woven game played by the powerful of the country. In that whirlwind to which he surrendered himself, he carried out every despicable task demanded of him. However, a faint glimmer of humanity remains accompanying him, emerging discreetly at the junctures of stories, in the depths of ugly scenes, when all the guards are asleep and the job requirements along with the orders from above subside for a while.

In a country where slavery is still practiced in its hidden corners, there are "maids" moving between the houses of the masters, young girls watching cartoons and surrendering their tender bodies and early years to those who invade the nights and their childhoods. There are honorable people who are defamed and criminals who are rewarded. In this country, there is a corrupt journalist, a human being who has forfeited his humanity, taming it with a few tears whenever it reappeared, only to die of sorrow...
