xينبعث في حياة آدم الماضي، وتساءلما ليزعزع ربتها: وظيفةٌ لا تظن، حياةٌ عائلية مُعدمة، صديقٌ وحيد يُدعى الرائد، ووقتٌ يقضيه في مقهى ماما سامية. خلال إحدى جلساته في المقهى، يصله الماضي عن طريق رجل مجهول يُدعى إدغار. ولو أنه لم يوافق عليه أن رآه من قبل، إلا أن الرجل يدعوه إلى شقّته. يكشف له أسراراً ما زالت تقاوم التحلّل رغم مرور عقود. يفتح له صندوق باندورا، فيخرج منه ما ليس موثقاً. بعد سنوات من موتها ظهرت أمه مجدّداً مؤكّدة أن الموتى لا يغيبون النقابي. بل سيتمكنون من اختراق الحياة مجدّداً، وتبديل مصائر الوجبات... في هذه المحكمة المحكمة واللامت المميزة، ترصد الرواية وتأثيرات الحروب من دون أن تذكرها مباشرة، تقتفي مساعدها وندوبها الذاتية التي ترسخها كل ما تم ونتجت ذكراها في العمر. يتسلل الماضي إلى حياة آدم كأنه يكسر رتابة الحياة: وظيفة لا تُطاق، وحياة عائلية بائسة، وصديق وحيد يُدعى رواد، ووقت قضاه في مقهى ماما سامية. في أحد الأيام، أثناء وجوده في المقهى، يعود الماضي ليطارده على هيئة رجل مجهول يُدعى إدغار. ورغم أنه لم يرَ هذا الرجل من قبل، يدعوه الغريب إلى شقته. ثم يكشف له أسرارًا لا تزال عصية على الفهم رغم مرور عقود عليها. يفتح له صندوق باندورا ليخرج منه أمرٌ غير متوقع. بعد سنوات من وفاتها، تظهر والدته مجددًا، مُثبتةً أن الموتى لا يختفون حقًا. بل إنهم قادرون على اختراق حواجز الحياة من جديد وتغيير مصير الأحياء... في هذه الحبكة الدقيقة وغير المتوقعة، تُدرك آثار الحرب دون أن تُذكر مباشرةً. تُصوّر القصة أثر الحرب والندوب التي خلّفتها وراءها والتي تتعمق مع مرور الزمن.

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within two weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.
