Improve your performance and discover your true potential by increasing your focus, willpower, and self-confidence. “Meditation… I still give it to my friends today.” Billie Jean King called it her “tennis textbook.” Timothy Gallwey’s best-selling book, which includes a foreword by renowned sports psychologist Jeff Beattie, has been a hit with players of all levels since its publication in 1972. Rather than focusing on how to improve your technique, this book is based on the understanding that “every game consists of two parts: an outer game and an inner game.” The outer game is played against opponents on the court, while the inner game is an internal battle through which we attempt to overcome self-doubt and anxiety. Often, it is won or lost before the ball is hit. Gallwey’s revolutionary approach, grounded in Zen philosophy and humanistic psychology, will teach you how to develop your focus, improve your playing skills, and eliminate bad habits. You’ll also learn how to trust yourself on the court and how to maintain a clear mind throughout a match, giving you a clear psychological advantage over your opponent. Whether you're an amateur or a professional, "The Inner Game of Tennis" is essential reading for overcoming the self-doubt, stress, and lack of focus that can prevent a player from winning. It's sure to change your tennis game forever.
