Lighting the Darkness

The book is divided into two parts: the first part examines concepts of race, Blackness, slavery, interracial marriage, and racism in Islam, in light of the Holy Quran, the Hadith, and ancient historical sources. The second part includes a collection of short biographies of Black Muslim men and women, North African Muslim women, noble figures in Islamic history, prophets and companions, and contemporary historical figures. The reader is given a captivating glimpse into the lives of truly noble figures, from eminent scholars to leaders of entire African civilizations. The reader needs no other distinction while reading this book than the one the author strives to make throughout: the noise of Islam is not only free of racism, but it is diametrically opposed to it as one of the strangest forms of ignorance.
