Muhammad Jamil Zeno (1344 - 1431 AH = 1925 - 2010 AD)

• He was born in the city of Aleppo in Syria in 1925 AD, corresponding to 1344 AH
• When he was about ten years old, he enrolled in a private school and learned to read and write.
• He enrolled in the (Dar Al-Hafiz) school and stayed there for five years, during which he memorized the Qur’an by heart with proper recitation.
• He entered a school in Aleppo that was called (The Preparatory Sharia College) and then became (The Sharia Secondary School), which was affiliated with the Islamic endowments, and it taught Sharia and modern sciences: he studied interpretation, Hanafi jurisprudence, grammar, morphology, history, hadith and its sciences, and other Sharia sciences.

Among the modern sciences he studied were physics, chemistry, mathematics, French, and other sciences in which Muslims excelled in the past, such as algebra.
He received his school certificate in 1948, obtained his high school diploma, entered the Teachers' Training College in Aleppo, and worked as a teacher for approximately 29 years.
• Then he left teaching. He came to Mecca for Umrah in 1399 AH, and met His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz, and knew that his creed was Salafi, so he appointed him as a teacher in the Grand Mosque of Mecca during the Hajj season. When the Hajj season ended, he sent him to Jordan to call to God, so he went and stayed in the city of “Al-Ramtha” in the Salah Al-Din Mosque, so he was an imam, preacher and teacher of the Qur’an, and he used to visit preparatory schools and guide the students to the creed of monotheism, so they accepted it with good acceptance.
• In the month of Ramadan of the year 1400 AH, he came to Mecca for Umrah, and stayed until after Hajj. Then he worked as a teacher at Dar Al-Hadith Al-Khairiyah in Mecca, and taught Tafsir, Tawhid, the Holy Qur’an and other lessons.

He issued short, concise, and simple messages that were well-received throughout the world. Some of these were translated into English, French, Bengali, Indonesian, Turkish, Urdu, and other languages. He named them "The Islamic Guidance Series," which comprised more than twenty messages, hundreds of thousands of which were printed, most of them free of charge.
He passed away - may God have mercy on him - on Friday, 1/11 (Dhu al-Qi'dah) /1431 AH
