“There are years that ask questions, and years that answer them.” If this saying is true, then this book is an answer to a question I asked myself many years ago. How I wished I had a field guide to help me understand the meaning of humanity! I wished I had a guide to accompany me through life. I wished I could find someone to guide me in what we don’t always learn formally but that impacts our lives and enriches our experiences. I’ve come to realize that if you want to change your life, know that you have already begun, because the desire itself is true evidence that hidden feelings in your heart have risen up. The journey now is to make your external experience a reflection of what is going on inside you. You must face the unknown, and confront what you have long fled from, to discover that what is holding you back is not fear itself, but the action you are avoiding. You have to learn to become what you habitually are, because what you habitually are is ultimately what you prefer, what you prefer is what you fall back to most easily, what you fall back to most easily is what you crave, what you crave is what you want to continue, and what you continue doing is ultimately what defines you. Whatever path you find yourself on, it is my sincere hope that in this book you will find an anchor, a North Star to point you toward what is right. Because I know and firmly believe that behind the life you are trying so hard to hold together, on the other side of the life you are forcing yourself to live... lies the life that is waiting for you.
