In this world of abstinence from logic lived Abdul-Mumin, driven by a delicious desire for revenge against an authority he often accused of stealing his dreams, even though it did nothing but confront him with his truth. However, he dressed his hatred for it in clothes that were not woven by his reality, but rather the reality of other people who were exhausted by awareness and stripped of everything by honesty, until they became enemies of everyone even though they did not fight anyone, for no reason other than because they believe that reason alone grants salvation, and because they believe in this, they are hated by every authority, which they coexisted with in a way that made them realize tranquility, because it is impossible for illusion to seduce them and make them slaves of it, after they understood that authority (any authority) is exactly like wine. If politics is what always squeezes it, then only religion makes it good and free.

Samir Kacimi is an Algerian novelist born in 1974. He devotes his time to writing and journalistic criticism. He has published ten novels, some of which have been translated into French, and several of them have won important awards, such as the Assia Djebar Grand Prize for the Novel for his novel *The Book of Mace* (2016), and the Hachemi Saidani Prize for the Best First Algerian Novel for his novel *Declaration of Lostness* (2010). Several of his novels have also been shortlisted for prestigious Arab and Western awards. Three of his novels have been translated into French. In 2017, the prestigious publishing house "Dar Seuil" published a translation of his novel *Love in a Slanting Autumn*, while the French publishing house "Actes Sud" published translations of his works *A Wonderful Day to Die* (2020) and, most recently, *Folly as Never Told*, which has been nominated for more than one award.
