The novelist describes him as “a poet without a poem, a scholar without knowledge, and a warrior without a story.” The reason for his ascension to this high position in the family came on the tongue of Hila, that when Fahhad was born, he came into this world without the cry of birth, which is “a facet of divine dignity,” and that the cries of the newborn mean that the demons and devils are exposed to him, and Fahhad is distinguished by this from the rest of humanity.
