By creating this novel, Nasrallah was able to trace the years of the Palestinian diaspora from the first exodus in 1948 until the repercussions of the defeat of 1967, where he dealt with daily material and created from it an amazingly detailed narrative world, not a historical record, opening a new door: the concept of history in the narrative text and the importance of its existence not as direct events but rather as the essence of the spirit of a given time.
