The wasted human being

The issue of human waste presents itself in various forms, levels, and colors: starting with the shedding of blood, criminalization, prohibition, exile, and banishment at home and abroad, tyranny and its mechanisms of controlling behavior and domesticating vital energies, and continuing with the waste of thought, awareness, youth, and institutions, ending with the various forms of existential waste in daily life. This waste, which may amount to an existential disease, renders any discussion of democracy and development superfluous as long as the founding and binding condition of recognizing human worth, status, immunity, capabilities, and awareness is not met. Every human being in our world has their share of waste, which varies in form and amount, obstructing or hindering the project of building a quality of life and shaping a future. The overall objective of this work is to raise awareness of instances of waste, both apparent and hidden, and to uncover their mechanisms, as a necessary step to confront them and ultimately undertake the task of reclaiming human humanity. To this end, it proposes an anti-waste perspective, embodied in positive thinking and positive feelings toward oneself, which serve with the power of competence and a sense of one's psychological well-being. This work is far from comprehensive in the issues it raises, and it is also far from providing definitive answers. Its main ambition is to launch a mechanism for reflection, dialogue, criticism, and refutation, and to open new horizons of research, leading to insight and contemplation.
