The book, "Party Orphans: The Biography of a Generation of Government Employees," is an autobiography by Emirati author Ahmed Amiri, recounting the events, incidents, anecdotes, and stories that occurred over the thirty years he spent working in government agencies and eventually in the private sector. He gradually began his biography by recalling his childhood memories and his family’s distinguished business lifestyle, explaining his difference from them and his inclination towards imagination and writing, and how his dreams of joining the Police College evaporated, so he worked in the family business for some time, assisting them in everything that came to mind, from delivering workers to painting walls, before joining the work of an investigation secretary in the Dubai Public Prosecution for about five years - from October 1993 to September 1998 - then as head of the Traffic Prosecution Office for three years - from October 1998 to October 2001 - then as an enforcement officer in the Dubai Courts for more than five years - from November 2001 to December 2006. He then left the judicial apparatus to work as editor-in-chief of a weekly newspaper published by a media company, as editor-in-chief. He worked for about two years, from January 2007 to March 2009, before the newspaper closed due to the global financial crisis, and the newspaper’s employees were transferred to different places - each according to His specialty - Amiri was assigned to work as a news editor at Dubai Customs from January 2007 to March 2009, until he left government work behind him and headed towards law and private work.
