This research aims to develop the design of current schools and establish new standards that are more appropriate for the cognitive and perceptual characteristics of primary school students.

The research also aims to make the school an environment that helps improve students' academic performance and enhance their psychological well-being and behavior inside and outside school.

The research examines, analyzes, and highlights the most important concepts derived from current school designs, then compares them with the perceptual and cognitive characteristics of the target age group.

The research relied on extracting the most prominent cognitive and perceptual development characteristics by reviewing previous studies, in addition to extracting the most important psychological and behavioral influences by referring to contemporary theories and standards in school design to establish new criteria.

The research analyzed the plans and virtual tours provided by the "Tathweer Schools" website, extracting the concepts available in current school designs, then comparing them with cognitive and perceptual development characteristics, and linking them to the resulting psychological and behavioral influences.

The most important findings of the research:

First: The current school design does not align with the general cognitive and perceptual characteristics of all age groups, which negatively affects the child's psychological well-being.

Second: The current school design relies on a standardized design applied to all school spaces and for all age groups, without considering the differences in cognitive development characteristics and perceptual characteristics for each age group, which leads to negative effects on their psychological health.
