The book addresses a series of concise messages to everyone concerned about one of the most important professions today: internal auditing. This includes aspiring internal auditors, novice practitioners, highly experienced professionals, as well as executive and senior management within organizations, managers of departments that interact with internal audit activities, and finally, members of boards of directors. The aim is to clarify a set of questions, thoughts, ideas, and perhaps, if I'm not exaggerating, myths surrounding the profession and role of internal auditing and its practitioners.

This book will provide a clear and frank answer to a set of questions that have long circulated in institutional corridors among employees not working in auditing, at all levels, and among skeptics with varying intentions: "What is the actual role of auditing? What do they do? What do they write? What are their services? Is there added value from their reports? Are they sufficiently qualified? Are there standards governing their work? Are they like policemen?"

But the bigger question is, "They audit us and evaluate our activities, but who audits and evaluates their activities?"

Through this book, I wanted to present the auditing profession from a different perspective, as a strategic partner within the organization, and to definitively remove ambiguity and confusion regarding the auditing profession for all relevant parties. After reading the book, the reader may, in my opinion, demand a change of the book's title to "The Gentle Hand Everyone Loves" instead of "The One Everyone Fears"... Let's see!
