How can you forget the terror, the shock, and the cries of children staring at their fate?

O earth, how do you portray the anguish of a little girl with a bruised face and tangled hair, her doll abandoned beneath the rubble?

Have you seen the struggle of your people to survive?

Have you felt the blood of the innocent flowing over your body?

O Life, were you a witness to those final farewell glances?

Did you experience the stopping of hearts, the severing of love, hopes, and dreams, and the children sleeping amid pain and sorrow in the embrace of Palestine and Syria?
