"Homeland" depicts the whirlwind of violence that rocked Basque society in particular and Spanish society in general after the death of President Franco in 1975 and continued after the separatist organization ETA declared a final ceasefire in October 2011. It follows the fate of two families: the Chatto family and the Josian family. This period was accompanied by a form of brutal repression, such that anyone who dared deviate from the organization's vision and its methods of achieving its goals was subjected to all manner of harassment and persecution, from the least being defamed on walls to the most extreme assassination or bombing carried out by ruthless young men, such as the son of one of the two families. They would kill anyone, regardless of their kindness or the friendly and loving relationship that bound them to the killer.
