In his introduction to the book, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi says: "The officials of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters in the sisterly State of Kuwait asked me to hold an exhibition of some of my collections and documents about the Gulf region. I felt compelled to present a work worthy of Kuwait's standing with us, so I decided to write the history of Kuwait as represented during the rule of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah. Due to my knowledge of that period, and that it contains much controversy that no one who wrote before me could resolve by fully presenting the truth, and also because there are narratives added to history without verifying their authenticity, which have become part of Kuwait's history, taught in schools and universities."
