On a warm day, a body is found in a children's park in Istanbul. The victim was left sitting under a slide, shot once in the back of the head, with a Barbie doll between her feet. When Captain Nozat arrives at the crime scene, he is shocked to discover that the victim is the man who molested his daughter Aysun, who had previously been detained but released due to lack of evidence. Initial investigations reveal that a decade ago, a serial killer nicknamed the Blind Cat killed twelve child molesters, leaving them in childcare centers. He was shot once in the head with a doll between their feet, and was never caught. Now, Captain Nozat believes the Blind Cat has awakened to resume his work. However, he notices subtle changes in his style, which later leads him to something he didn't expect. While gathering information, the captain and his team reach the Syrian refugee community in Turkey. They witness the suffering of people forced from their homeland by war, and how one is forced On selling his own child and sacrificing what is most precious to him in order to preserve what he can of his family, whom he brought with him from the ends of the earth, hoping for a decent life that he might not find. *Ahmed Umit was born in 1960 in Gaziantep. He began his novelistic career in 1996 when he published his first novel, (Night and Fog). It was followed by a collection of novels, including: (The Scent of Snow), (Map of the Human Soul), (Erems of Istanbul), and (The Assassination of the Sultan). Most of his works have been translated into more than twenty languages.









We learn with Thiong'o the value of knowledge, which colonialism withheld from the Kenyan people. He tells us about the emergence of formal education and independent, rebellious schools in Kenya. His dream, which he promised his mother he would spare no effort to achieve, was to learn. But how can a child cling to his dream amidst the shadows of World War II and his family crises? This childhood memoir serves as Thiong'o's testimony in defense of his right to dream, at least, despite all the difficulties, and of his mother's significant role in his life, which has led him to become one of Africa's greatest writers worldwide.
