He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University. He worked as a lawyer and wrote on culture and politics in various newspapers. He has published numerous novels and short story collections, which have been translated into more than thirty-five languages. He translated William Blake's poetry collection "Heaven and Hell" into Turkish. His novel "The Innocents" He won two local literary awards in 2011. His novel "Istanbul Istanbul" won two international awards in 2017 and 2018.
