This is the third book in a series documenting the history of education in the seven Emirates. Two previous installments covered education in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This book includes several general and main topics related to education in Sharjah before the Union. Through it, the reader learns about the news, form, type, people, and curricula of education in the Emirates before the Union. The first chapter is dedicated to educational missions, followed by the second chapter on education in Sharjah, the third on the early beginnings of this education, the fourth chapter discusses semi-formal education in Sharjah, the fifth is dedicated to private education in Sharjah, and the sixth chapter covers formal education in the Emirate. As a result of these efforts, the Emirate of Sharjah was crowned with the leadership in education, where the oldest known semi-formal school in the coast (Al-Taymiyyah Al-Mahmoudiyah) was opened in 1907. It also pioneered the introduction of modern education for boys in 1953 and for girls in 1954.
