The Book of Changes

The East now is the image the West has drawn of it. Perhaps this phrase is a linguistic venture, an injustice to both East and West. The truth is that the East has squandered its right to human development and allowed – perhaps willingly – to accept everything that the Western imagination overflows with. Here is the book (I Ching) or (The Book of Changes), which originated in China more than three thousand years BC. It is a documented foundation for a large number of energy and self-development books that now abound in the Western world. And if we were forced to be fair to this book – unwillingly, of course – we would say that it is more important than all the books published by Western publishing houses, which neglected to mention it, for their own reasons. Even the authors who drew from this book and became prominent names did not bother to mention (I Ching), even in passing. The Chinese (I Ching) gives us the ability to know ourselves, returns us to human harmony, and frees us from many illusions about the differences between one human and another. It is the secret document that confirms to us that there is only one human being, no matter how much geography, language, and race differ. At the same time, it teaches us to emerge from our hateful negativity and become positive, humane, kind, and worthy of living on this earth. It also teaches us how we must escape from our earthly hell, through one path only: love.
