Childhood stressors are events that are either severe in severity or recurring over a long period of time, or both. Small, scattered events, fleeting situations, and even recurring negative experiences, if limited in severity, can have a limited impact or even generate strength, endurance, and resilience. This is because children are highly resilient psychologically, and even minor negative experiences are part of normal development and are essential for building psychological resilience. How can childhood experiences be a potentially explosive environment? Because, as an extremely important component of psychotherapy and development, they are among the most misunderstood and exaggerated when discussing mental illness in popular culture and social media. They are often interpreted as explanations for everything, are overly lenient in defining them, or are even used to justify abnormal beliefs or behaviors toward oneself and others. This scientific book is the culmination of three listening sessions: to patients, to science, and to the inner voice of a psychiatrist who spends long hours every day treating people with depression, inquiring about the problem, considering the most appropriate treatment method for each person, and reflecting on their experience.
