On August 2nd, something happened that no one expected.

Before this time, life continued as usual, until something else came along, turning things upside down. At that point, life became like a deep hole in a tunnel, and the greatest hope one could have had was to be able, by any means, to save oneself and one's family from that raging hell.

Here are tales of life in pre-invasion Kuwait, from the press to cultural and artistic events, interwoven with the story of a family whose circumstances suddenly changed, from a safe life to one in which they found themselves on the brink of hell. At that moment, they had to anticipate the unimaginable, and this time, they had to be certain that what was coming would only inject doses of terror and a sense of insecurity.

They realized then that what they had to do, to avoid the harshness of their reality and its unknown repercussions, was to cling to the fringes of life, resist the looming specter of death, and snatch from its jaws an additional breath of hope. At this critical time, this family had to navigate a difficult path that would help them find a way out.
