MISS: I’ll leave, if you come with me!
JEAN: Are you mad, woman? Miss Julie running away with her valet! That’s what the papers will write the day after tomorrow, and the Count will never recover from it!
MISS: I can’t leave! I can’t stay! Help me! I’m exhausted, to an endless degree – command me! Make me move, for I can no longer think, or do anything…!
JEAN: Do you, Miss, see what scum you all are? Why the boasting and arrogance, as if you were gods of creation? Very well: I will command you! Go upstairs, change your clothes, get some money for the journey, and come back down here!

JOHAN AUGUST STRINDBERG (1849 - 1912): Playwright, novelist, poet, painter, translator, journalist, and photographer. The most famous and important Swedish writer, comparable to Shakespeare in influence.
MISS JULIE: His most famous play of all time, considered the most important theatrical work that embodied the ideas of Naturalism in thought and art. It has been performed countless times, and still is, in most living languages, with various interpretive visions and suggestions, not only in theatre but also as cinematic films, opera and ballet performances, and television dramas across the world. It has previously been translated into Arabic, but it is presented here as a direct translation from the Swedish language, from the first edition of its original text, not from a third language, including Strindberg's famous preface to the play, which was considered his literary manifesto.
