It seems the illusion of a peaceful life has deceived our two protagonists this time. After finishing their last case at "The Box," they succumbed to a life of tranquility and relaxation. No serious crimes confront Detective Mina Derabey, and no serial killer lurks, seeking revenge on Vincent Valder. But the future has other plans. A child is kidnapped from his care, then another. The team discovers similarities between the two cases and the circumstances of a long-closed case. They assume these are ordinary kidnappings and that the perpetrator will demand a ransom, but nothing of the sort happens. Instead, the bodies of these children begin to appear in random locations. Or are these locations carefully chosen?
