Marlo and Anna get off a bus that stops in the main square of the village of Lizzanello in southern Italy. Carlo, happy to be home, is followed by his wife, Anna, as beautiful as a Greek statue. But she is sad and apprehensive. What awaits her in a foreign country? Even after thirty years of living with them, Anna remains the "foreigner" from the north in the eyes of the villagers. She defies their traditions, is not ashamed to express her feelings openly, and deals confidently with everything she faces, refusing to submit to the rules that restrict southern women. In a true challenge to these restrictions, Anna enters a competition to hire a postman and wins, becoming the first woman to work in this position in Lizzanello. This is met with disapproval from most of the villagers. Anna begins work, which gives her the opportunity to enter every house in the village and get to know its people. For more than twenty years, she has remained the invisible thread that binds the villagers together. But, to the disapproval and astonishment of the villagers, will the postwoman bring about change in Lizzanello?

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
