The two chat, and he learns that her daughter's grave is actually empty; she disappeared years ago and was presumed dead by the Swedish police. However, a chance discovery compels Detective Everett Greens to reopen her case. Driven by a past trauma, he becomes determined to uncover what happened to the child who vanished without a trace. His investigation leads him to the sinister world of a child sex trafficking ring. Everett Greens is then forced to call upon his retired colleague, Piet Hoffman, the best undercover agent he knows, to infiltrate the gang.
