These stories form their own world, with unique details and astonishing characters, a blend of intense realism and strangeness that surprises the narrator from the heart of ordinary situations. The narrator is fond of songs and similes, gossip and insults, roaming the streets to run errands he is forced to do, or in search of ways to pass the time, and life confronts him with unexpected oddities and situations that evoke stars of art, music, and literature, in strange situations that contradict the familiar image of these stars. We see them from the narrator's perspective and from his feeling of alienation, and with his language that rebels against the familiar and deliberately breaks the rules of language.
