Popular proverbs are the popular historical memory of all countries and peoples, as the proverb is a sentence taken from speech, and it is the result of experiences that were lived and events and incidents that generated attention, created alertness, and left behind a lesson and a moral.
Popular proverbs are a treasure and a popular heritage for every individual; they are the product of the lived experiences of our fathers and grandfathers. They are presented on a golden platter as a gift passed down from generation to generation, either to avoid falling into pitfalls that could lead to destruction, or to teach us the safe path and the shore of salvation from drowning.
Proverbs, with their characteristics, features, and brevity, whether in the first half of a verse, the second half, or even a short, concise saying, are codes and symbols for snares, knots, and tribulations from which there is no escape.
Despite the age of proverbs, they are still present and alive in people’s minds, coming and going and imposing themselves in every incident and situation.
