My game has fallen....and with it my humanity has fallen.
The sounds of artillery rock the area, missiles fly over our heads, and bullets echo in pain.
The challenges of war, the challenges of building a family, the challenges of studying and working... the challenges of moving from one country to another... they are endless. And they will never end. My challenges as an Emirati woman are the challenges of every Gulf and Arab woman, and every young man and woman... they are the challenges of every human being.
You may be late in achieving what you seek, but it's not the end of the world. Look at yourself and ask yourself: Is your heart still beating? If you don't panic and procrastinate, have you been displaced from your country? Has your dignity been violated.
Lost a loved one? Suffered from a terminal illness? Separated from your spouse? I feel you and empathize with your feelings.
I tasted some and got up again...
Dear reader, you will know how similar we are. You will be convinced by the vivid reality you touch and the true stories I lived through in every detail. How I stripped myself of my silence and stillness, removed my pain, and abandoned my fear and anxiety. I declared to myself and to the world that I will not surrender and will not submit to any obstacles. I also know that you are capable not only of rising again but of building a legacy that you will be proud of for generations to come... a legacy that you will sing on its shores.
"Emirati Challenge" is the journey of my decisions and the essence of my life choices. You may agree with me or you may disagree, and this book, with every word I write, remains a witness to my sincere feelings. I convey them to you with complete transparency, hoping they will inspire you and be a reason for the long-awaited self-reflection and reflection that will enable you to steer your life with a positive perspective, God willing.
