In the minds of Arabic speakers in general, and Egyptians in particular, the term "Hyksos" is associated with several mixed and conflicting perceptions and views. Some see the Hyksos as savage rabble who occupied Egypt by force and cruelty until they were overthrown by the loyal Egyptians. Others see them as a people of believers who were treated unfairly by history. There are those who believe that the Pharaoh mentioned in the Torah and the Quran was a Hyksos, and many others, each with a different interpretation and viewpoint.
The Hyksos, a word that has puzzled many for hundreds of years, with each person embarking on their own journey, searching in their own way and approach, until everyone ended up at a dead end that collapsed under the rubble of dozens of new questions, while science on the other side of the wall tried to solve the mystery based on what the Egyptians, and even the Hyksos themselves, left behind.
This book is the first study of its kind by an Egyptian author on the subject of the Hyksos. Within its pages, we embark on a long journey across the land of Egypt, spanning thousands of years, armed with sound science, archaeological discoveries, and conclusive evidence, to answer this simple yet complex question: Who were the Hyksos?
