Between the two covers of this book are thirty tales from the long Arab history, beginning with the time of knights, whose ambitions were not limited to the present. With the advent of the message of Islam and martyrdom for its sake, they had what they wanted: to confront and triumph over time itself. Then, we turn to an era that began with a major turmoil, rejecting courage and embracing cunning: the era of kings. A time when the world became too narrow for those fighting for the throne, despite its vast conquests and victories, and it was inevitable for them to get rid of each other, even if they were united by blood brotherhood. These conflicts quickly led to the fall of the Umayyads and Abbasids, paving the way for the era of the Jalban, mercenary soldiers from the Turks, Mamluks, Seljuks, and others. Instead of one caliph, there were a thousand caliphs, who neither owned nor ruled. After that, occupying states took turns from every direction until we reached an era truly filled with despair, but not devoid of hope. There are dreamy men, slaughtered uprisings, a yearning desire for change, revolutions hidden beneath the ground and others emerging to light, and we are still waiting for a new Arab era, a new labor and a new birth.
