It has been translated into numerous languages, including English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Turkish, earning him the State Prize for Literature in 1957. Dr. Mohamed Kamel Hussein (1901-1977) was a brilliant surgeon and a distinguished professor. He excelled in medicine and was considered a pioneer of orthopedic surgery in Egypt, receiving the State Prize for Sciences in 1967, thus becoming the first Egyptian to win both the literature and science prizes. He authored several books on the Arabic language, literature, criticism, medicine, and science, notably "The Sacred Valley" (Dar Al-Shorouk, 2007), "A People Who Do Not Purify Themselves" (Dar Al-Shorouk, 2004), "The Wise Remembrance," "Contemporary Arabic Language," "The Biological Analysis of History," and "The Unity of Knowledge."
