English writer Doris Lessing says, "Nothing is more boring for a cultured woman than to spend endless time with young children." Lessing won the Nobel Prize for Literature, but she left her children behind for that path, and in some narratives for herself. Motherhood has its crushing aspects, taking a woman along the way and crushing her dreams and ambitions. Patriarchal society portrays it as an innate quality with which women are born, a rosy, radiant life like this cover that we enjoy in a newborn existence that grows into a child, then a teenager, then a beautiful young man. This is what mothers rebel against the more they delve deeper into the experience. What I did was fly away, but not to escape from my children, but towards them, on a long journey to Indian cities completely unknown to us; Let us recognize the heart of what we found ourselves in: me as a mother and they as my children. Let us deconstruct the myths of so-called rosy motherhood, delve into its black holes, and discover them. There, amidst the noise of the Indian streets, temples, and tangled forests, and amidst the fiery food and spices, we repaired many of the rifts between us. New disagreements emerged, and other defeats loomed on the horizon. But we became more aware of being a small family, keen to resist the old Lessing boredom that had made her flee from her maternal destiny. It is a journey to India, which at first appears touristic, but it was an inward journey toward ourselves; to find it far from the cogs of the wheel of daily life and get to know it anew.
