This is the second book in the "Arab Poets" series, specifically focusing on the early Islamic era and the Rightly Guided Caliphs. It covers transitional poets (mukharrameen) and poetesses, followed by Islamic poets and poetesses, without separating these categories. The book begins with an introduction on the transition of literary life, following the general shift from the pre-Islamic era to the early Islamic era, and the circumstances that allowed the new era to progress rapidly.
For each poet, a brief biography is provided, along with the period in which they lived. Then, a selection of their poetry is presented, showcasing their personality, themes, and the characteristics of their era, thus illustrating the literary features of these poets.
