This book was originally Ibn Taymiyyah’s answer, may God have mercy on him, to a question directed to him by a Muslim. Its text is what the honorable scholars, the imams of religion, may God be pleased with them all, say about the existents: If they originate from nothing, then how can there be existence from nothing? And from what did the existents originate after they did not exist? And was their origination from the pure eternal will? And what is the conclusive evidence for the creation of the world? Please advise us, may God reward you. May God forgive you all. Ibn Taymiyyah began his answer by affirming that the existents came into existence from nothing. Then he explained the method of the Noble Qur’an in proving the Creator and His attributes, and demonstrated the invalidity of the method of the people of scholastic theology in this regard.
