The Virtues and Characteristics of Surah Al-Kahf

"Surah Al-Kahf" is one of the unique Surahs of the Holy Quran, distinguished by great virtues, among them: whoever recites the opening verses of this Surah, or memorizes ten verses from its beginning; Allah will protect and safeguard him from the tribulation of the Dajjal. This Surah also contains many profound wisdoms and great admonitions that review some of the worldly tribulations that a person faces in his life, including: the tribulation of religion in the story of the People of the Cave, the tribulation of wealth in the story of the owners of the two gardens, the tribulation of knowledge in the story of "Al-Khidr" with "Moses" (peace be upon him), and the tribulation of kingship and authority in the story of "Dhul-Qarnayn."

In this book, the author presents an analytical Hadith study of this blessed Surah and discusses, at the beginning of the book, the place and reason for the Surah's revelation. He then proceeds to define its divinely ordained and scholarly derived names, explaining its objectives and characteristics. He then focuses on mentioning the authentic Hadiths regarding its virtues, with a brief explanation, and draws attention to the weak and fabricated Hadiths mentioned in each of them. He then explains the characteristics of this Surah in light of the authentic Hadiths, and also highlights the topics, falsehoods, and superstitions that have been mentioned regarding the characteristics of this Surah, which contradict Islamic creed and violate legitimate controls. He also explains the virtue of reciting this Surah on Friday, and mentions the Hadiths and narrations regarding its virtue, then the sayings of the imams regarding the permissibility of reciting this Surah on this blessed day, and then the reason for dedicating its recitation to this day over others. He concludes the book by mentioning a number of important results he derived from this study. All of this is presented in a simplified style that non-specialists in Quranic studies can understand and comprehend.
