The book is a selection of the judgment and recompense in the Quranic expression and examining it from the rhetorical point of view. What is meant by the judgment and what is similar to it, such as the judgment and the separation, is not their general meaning, but rather what is meant by them is the judgment, because the judgment has several meanings, such as creation, as in the saying of the Almighty: {So He decreed them as seven heavens in two days} [Fussilat: 12], meaning He created them. And among its meanings is the command, as in the saying of the Almighty: {And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him} [Al-Isra: 23], meaning the command of your Lord, and other things. Likewise, separation can mean separation, so the meaning of separation between two things is a separation between them, and a separator is a barrier, and other things. What is meant by them in this book is the judgment and not the general meaning, and the same applies to the recompense, because what is meant by it in this book is only the recompense of Allah for deeds.
