The book starts by deconstructing the ambiguous relationship between tradition, modernity, and postmodernity, revealing how modernity entered the Arab sphere often as a "reception" rather than a construction and production. It exposes the dilemmas of cultural consumption, the monopolization of truth, and cultural narcissism, which strip modernity of its meaning and prevent it from becoming a productive experience.
 
Belkeziz analyzes the reciprocal stereotypes between Arabs and the West, advocating for a more rational relationship with the other: one of knowledge, discernment, and constructive rather than destructive criticism.
 
Abdelilah Belkeziz is a Moroccan thinker, holds a doctorate in philosophy, and is a professor of higher education at Hassan II University in Morocco. He has published several books on philosophy, Islamic studies, and contemporary Arab thought. He was chosen by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) as the symbol of Arab culture for 2024. Dar Al Saqi has published his works 'Philosophy and Politics' and 'Culture, Knowledge, and Ideology'.
