Boran leaves Istanbul on the first train he comes across, escaping his painful reality and hoping to write the novel he has always dreamed of. By chance, he boards a train heading to Kars, where, in a remote place, he encounters an old woman named Basti.

There, he meets the talking parrot “Ameer Al-Sukkar” (Prince of Sugar), who takes him centuries back in time as he tells him the story of his friend Gul Badam.

As Boran listens to the story of Gul Badam, a scholar whom the Shah of India gave to the Sultan in order to rid himself of the consequences of his disastrous inventions, the author takes the reader on a journey through geography and history, from the Shah’s palace in India to legendary Istanbul.

There, conspiracies are being woven to rebel against the Sultan deep inside secret underground passages beneath the Galata Tower. The story takes the reader through the corridors of palaces and into the hidden depths of human souls, while exploring the meaning of love in its absolute form.

It is a novel that blends reality and fantasy, opening the doors to interconnected worlds and carrying the reader across distant, forgotten eras and enchanting places.
