Deep in the valley of the Ostrich, along the desert, stands a brave warrior with a supernatural strength unlike any other. He is the Ostrich Man, whose people and tribe were wiped out by the Masked Men when he was a child. He would grow up to become the Greatest Warrior, who has been crossing the desert for hundreds of years, as tribes await his arrival and rally around him. He fears no enemy and never loses a battle. But his battle with his family's killers was the awaited goal. However, revenge would not come until the "prophecy" was fulfilled, and its secret, known only to the Wise Man. As soon as the Ostrich Man reached him, he recognized it, and to further confirm it, he gave him that endless blue liquid to drink. As soon as it flowed through his body, he felt boundless strength, as if the entire desert had been spread out before him. Everything seemed clear to him; he had finally learned the secret of the gate leading to the Masked Men's location.
From the atmosphere of the novel, we read: “The two girls emerged from the hole. Luckily for the traveler this time, the donkey was thirsty, so it stopped running after two attempts. Then it relented to the traveler’s hand, who offered it water and wrapped the rope around its head. It circled around the remains of the freekeh, found a good saddlebag, placed it on the donkey’s back, then loaded what it could carry of dried dates and figs, water, and a little dried meat. It returned to the two girls, and they all set off towards the northwest.”
