The novel's events take place between Tashkent, the Hejaz, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Mashhad, and the story of Tamerlane and his conquest of the world is present in its atmosphere, to the point that the novel almost becomes a reference to the historical period it deals with; and the dramatic transformations it witnessed during that era. However, the novel does not limit itself to presenting historical facts; rather, it seems to be concerned with what is more important and deeper, when it demonstrates the purposeful use of history in literature and the implications derived from that and its symbolism, which can be interpreted in light of the current reality. It can also be said that the novel was able to weave an (ancient-modern) picture of the relationship between Arabs and Persians and the way each views the other.
In this life, every person sometimes meets their own angel, a new human being. As long as they are alive, they can rebuild what has been destroyed. This novel is dedicated to all those who do not surrender to illness and injustice.
