How to write dialogue? Writing dialogue represents a real challenge for the novelist; it is linked to a set of extremely precise technical choices, which the writer finds himself forced to weigh up through trial and error, in what resembles laboratory, experimental work, requiring dozens of attempts at writing and erasing before arriving at the desired formula. "Literary writing is nothing but carpentry," as García Márquez says, and therefore requires high craftsmanship and a keen awareness of the nature of the technical decisions the novelist must make to produce his work in the desired form. One of the most important questions that confronts the novelist within his text is the question of dialogue. This book is an attempt at this path.
