The Art of Always Being Right

The Art of Always Being Right, or The Art of Controversy, is a book by the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer in which he explains the models of arguments and fallacies that are used when debating parties dispute a certain position. Each party, or one of them, may seek to undermine their opponent by using various means related to statements and events. The methods of deception branch into those based on language, using linguistic tricks such as concealing intent, obscuring expression, employing false premises, omitting some of them, and other means capable of making the speaker convey their discourse and make their argument seemingly acceptable. It was translated into Arabic by Professor Ridwan Al-Osba and reviewed by Dr. Hassan Al-Bahi. The methods of deception are based on language through many linguistic tricks, such as concealing the objective, using certain expressions, employing more false premises and hiding some of them. There are more ways to achieve this, which allows the speaker to convey their discourse and use more arguments that are seemingly acceptable.
