It is impossible for anyone to remember the moment of their death. Not the drowning person, nor the one whose neck was guillotined. Not those who died under the rubble, in a bombing, or who fell from a mountain, in a road accident, or in the intensive care unit. No one at all. Everyone would be too busy staring at two or three hands chasing each other in gloomy monotony. All I know is that that thing cannot be time. For the dead or those standing on the brink of death, time is something that emanates from within themselves, from a point deep within them, not from outside. That is why the dead do not wear their watches, nor do they carry their cell phones.
