The Guide of Souls to the Lands of Joy

In this book, Ibn al-Qayyim describes Paradise in a way that is enjoyable for the reader and enticing for the viewer. He describes its inhabitants, their food and drink, and their brides from among the Houris, as well as their attributes. He also mentions the number of gates of Paradise, their vastness, the degrees of Paradise, the forerunners from this nation to it, and their descriptions. He mentions the categories of the people of Paradise who are guaranteed entry, to the exclusion of others, along with a description of the soil of Paradise, its light, its palaces, its trees, the drink and food of its inhabitants, their clothing, their tents, their beds, their servants, and their young boys. He also describes the women of Paradise, their categories, and their outward and inward beauty. The greatest chapter in the book is the mention of the people of Paradise gazing upon their Lord directly, relying in everything he mentions on the Holy Quran and the Prophetic traditions. The book is divided into seventy chapters.
