The shining lamp for the pilgrim and the pilgrims

Praise be to Allah, who made the path of worship easy, and perfected all that He imposed and willed, and clarified the laws of His religion and implemented His will. I praise Him, glory be to Him, and I thank Him, and He has given permission to the grateful to increase. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner, and I hope that I will be sealed with a testimony like this, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, companions, children and grandchildren, and may He grant them abundant peace. And after: I gave a lecture in some mosques on the occasion of the Hajj season, in which I spoke about the rituals, the benefits of ihram, tawaf and sa’i, standing and talbiyah and the like. Then some of the brothers transcribed it from the tapes on which it was recorded and showed it to me, so I corrected the mistakes that resulted from improvisation, and completed what was missing from it, such as the actions of the Day of Sacrifice and the farewell tawaf, and I added to it an article that I had written regarding visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, and I concluded it with a conclusion related to sincere repentance and the state of the one who performed this. The rituals after his return, the signs of Hajj being accepted or rejected, and what he should be like for the rest of his life, due to the urgent need for that.
I have given permission for this lecture and what has been added to it to be printed, hoping that it will benefit those for whom God wills good, despite my knowledge of the shortcomings and weakness of the scholarly material I have, and that many of the greatest scholars, both ancient and modern, have written about the rituals and expanded or abbreviated them, and there is little need to add anything new. However, every diligent person has a share, and what I have written or said may be a warning or clarification of something that may be hidden from some.
We have seen the widespread ignorance of those who perform these rituals, and the occurrence of violations that occur among the masses, due to imitation or wrong assumption, and then after the occurrence, they inquire about the ruling, and thus fall into difficulty and hardship. It would have been better for him to confirm the actions before undertaking them. The Muslim must have insight into his religion, and be keen to clear his conscience of what God has obligated upon him, so that he may be free from the responsibility. And God knows best, and may God’s prayers and peace be upon Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
