Love is beautiful and necessary, but what's more important is that you understand me, that you grant me security and reassurance, that you pick up on the echoes of my suffering when I'm in pain, that you feel the frown on my face when I get angry, that you contain me in my enthusiasm and moodiness, and that you fidget in your bed at night when insomnia almost kills me. That a person understands you correctly, contains you with tenderness, appreciates your pain, embraces your faults and completes your shortcomings, then you have tasted the flavor of paradise on earth and drank from the bliss of life.. That is -only- if you are lucky enough. He wished someone could contain him, to tell him: You may be a bad person, but I accept you, I forgive you, I respect your pain, I understand your fatigue, and I understand your weakness. Rest assured, everything will be okay, and even if it isn't, I am with you and I will remain by your side. Despite the farces, tragedies, misery, disappointment, and fear, we must resist. We must pray, sing, dance, and force feelings. We must love, because there is no escape from love. We must love madly and passionately, love until we perish. Jalal ad-Din ar-Rumi says: “Without love, all music is noise, all dancing is madness, all worship is a burden. Love is a bridge between you and everything.”
