Three Mothers and Three Daughters offers a glimpse into daily Palestinian life under the Israeli occupation, as told by Palestinian women from successive generations and across different regions of Palestine. It is the product of a collaboration between a Muslim woman, Rafika Othman, and a Jewish psychiatrist, Michael Gorkin, who sought to take the term "everyday life" beyond its theoretical framework, so that these women's experiences would not be stifled by the weight of theorizing and scientific research. In this book, you will find narratives whose authors successfully combine theoretical and academic discourse with personal testimony, often more wild and chaotic. We witness the women's inner joys in the midst of their domestic lives, and even accompany them in their darkest times, experiencing the hardship of their displacement from their homes before they are destroyed or seized by the occupying forces.
